Policies
Tuition -
Registration Fee / $40 ($10 for each additional student in the same family)
35 Min classes / $37 a month / $333 a season
50 Min classes / $42 a month / $378 a season
Competition classes / $47 a month / $423 a season
Acro classes / $60 a month / $540 a season
Acro Tech (For Acro 2 and 3) / $20 a month / $180 a season
*Competition students are also responsible for paying competition fees when the studio registers. The fees vary with each competition. We will keep all competition families posted on these fees during competition season*
Private comp sessions (1/2 Hour) / $60 a month (weekly classes) / $540 per season
One time privates (Full Hour) / $20
Costume fee / $80
Tuition is due monthly, based on the first date of dance scheduled for the year (exp, First Day Of Dance 2021 was September 20th, tuition was due on the 20th of every month. Families who pay their entire tuition up front by October 1st will receive a 10% discount. Students in multiple classes will also receive a 10% discount towards their total tuition and families with multiple students enrolled also receive this discount (for a max discount of 20%).
An $80 costume fee is posted by December 1st of the dance season. This is to ensure costumes can be purchased, ordered and arrived to us by our year end recital and competition season. Your $80 costume fee also includes a fresh pair of recital tights and a recital gift. Fees MUST be paid to send the costume home with your child.
We cannot issue tuition or fee refunds once they are paid.
Recital -
Unless otherwise stated, our end of the year recitals will be held at the Bradford Area High School auditorium. During the recital, parents are NOT to try to enter the auditorium early to reserve seats. There is plenty of seating in the auditorium to accommodate a show of our size. Families are expected to follow BAHS rules in the auditorium. Failure to have your Dance Studio Pro account up to date by the recital date will prevent your child from participating. Tickets are $12. Kids 4 and under are free. We provide high quality, fully in color souvenir programs.
Classroom -
Students are expected to follow our attire guidelines for each class they are enrolled in. This is important in order to keep the classroom safe and professional. If a student does not arrive in proper attire, and doesn't have the proper attire to change into, they will not be permitted to participate in class. We will have hair ties to provide in case a student is in need, but we cannot provide proper clothing if a student arrives in street clothes.
Students are to arrive at the studio 5-10 minutes before their class begins so they have time to change into their shoes and get themselves settled. Repeat tardiness will not be tolerated as this affects the class as a whole. Poor attendance also affects the class and their peers. Please keep in mind that we cannot issue refunds for already paid tuition and fees and will still apply if the student has missed an extensive amount of classes.
Do not drop your child off more than 15 minutes early to class. We are not on child watch in the waiting room!
Please notify the studio immediately if your child is discontinuing a class. This ensures that tuition / fees won't be charged to a child who is no longer enrolled.
Students may keep their cell phones with their belongings in the waiting room, but are not permitted in the classroom as this causes distractions and interruptions. SDC cannot be responsible for all belongings brought to and left in our building. Please keep this in mind if an item comes up missing or damaged, including electronics. Leave any items you want to be kept safe at home.
At SDC, we love taking photos and videos of what we are up to in the classroom to showcase on social media, for marketing purposes and advertisements. We want to respect the privacy of our students and our families. If you do not wish for your student to be in any forms of media posts, please notify us upon registration. A form will be provided at registration to either agree or disagree to the use of media involving our students, and no media will include any students who declined. If you do not let us know that you do not wish for your child to be in social media posts, assume they could be featured.
Waiting Room / Building -
We share our building with other businesses in our area. Please be respectful to the building while in the parking lot, waiting room, hallway and bathrooms. Drive slow through Russell Blvd please!
Please only provide your student with water for their class break. This prevents spills from colored juices, sodas and energy drinks. Food is permitted in the waiting room, but please clean up all garbage left over. If this becomes a problem, we will no longer allow food in the waiting room. Food is not permitted in the studio room itself unless SDC is holding an event. Please clean up your messes!
Class Cancellations And Breaks -
Cancellations due to weather are to be expected and accounted for throughout the dance season. If the Bradford Area School District has a cancellation, we will automatically be closed, although at times we may decide to cancel classes based on surrounding districts as well. We will notify of a cancellation by Facebook, Instagram, email and automated phone call. Please use your best judgement in traveling to the studio in risky weather. We have families who travel from surrounding towns. If you feel you need to keep your child home due to travel issues, please do so. There are no refunds for cancellations but makeups may be scheduled in certain circumstances.
Breaks are scheduled throughout the season and all dates will be posted on our Calendar tab. We will also have break reminders on our social media.
Safe Touch And Spotting -
During dance training (especially our Acro classes), some physical contact may be deemed necessary between students and staff. Physical instruction which involves safe touch is important when teaching proper alignment and spotting skills. All students and families who sign up for Acro are under the knowledge that it is physically demanding and requires a lot of safety, attentiveness and awareness.
