Classes
We offer a large variety of class types and dance styles at Starlit Dance Connection. Our weekly schedule consists of classes for ages 2 to adult. Check out our season's schedule to see which styles are offered for each age group! Look out for opportunities to try new styles through the year! Classes marked with a "*" indicates a competition class opportunity.
BALLET
Ballet is the foundation to a variety of dance styles and is essential for the well-rounded dancer. This is a style heavily focused in proper posture, alignment and placement to achieve graceful and fluid movement at the barre, at center and across the floor. Students will learn French Ballet terminology, history and performance.
HIP - HOP *
Hip-Hop is a style derived from African-American culture that incorporates elements of popping, breaking, locking, bouncing and rock. This is a high energy style of class where students will learn Hip-Hop terminology, history and foundations to varying styles beyond Hip-Hop.
TAP
Tap dance is a rhythmic style of dance in which the dancer uses Tap shoes to create a variety of difference sounds with the entire foot. Students will learn Tap terminology, music theory and rhythm.

JAZZ *
Jazz is an upbeat style class that involves various progressions, isolations and foot work, along with a foundation of balance and strength, to achieve an energetic performance. Students will learn Jazz terminology, history and movement.
CONTEMPORARY *
Contemporary is a style of dance that incorporates Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and Modern elements to create a very expressive and artistic performance. Students will learn Ballet and Jazz terminology, Modern techniques, choreographing and improvisation. This style is offered in a Competitive style class.
ACRO
Acro dance is a style of dance that incorporates precision, flexibility, strength and balance, as well as a foundation of proper dance technique, to perform a variety of tricks, flips and poses. Students will have 1 on 1 opportunities to safely execute a variety of tricks within their ability, and showcase them in performance.
LYRICAL *
Lyrical is a style of dance that incorporates elements from both Ballet and Jazz technique, along with the tone and lyrics to the music, to create a story using the body. Students will learn Ballet and Jazz terminology, improvisation and expression. This style is offered in a Competitive style class.
MUSICAL THEATER
Musical Theater is an expressive style of class where the student will combine Jazz technique and other Broadway styles with elements of acting, facial expressions, lip syncing, and improvisation to create a well-rounded, story-telling performance. Students will learn Musical Theater history, the use of props, and stage presence.
TWINKLE STARS
Our Twinkle Stars class is a Creative Movement, "parent and me" style class to acquaint the students with a classroom environment. They'll learn basic dance terminology and Ballet technique, and gain skills in following directions, working with others, using their imagination and learning how their bodies move.
RISING STARS
Our Rising Stars classes are Combo classes, in which Tap dance is now introduced along with Ballet. They will learn Tap technique in the first half of class, and perform a Tap dance in the year end recital. They will continue their Ballet foundation in the second half of class. Tumbling is also introduced.
